Braid Basics: Braid Styles That Look Great
By Style Guide Heather Spohr
A braid used to be a simple style
to keep hair tidy and pulled off the face. Now, braids are used to add variety and detail to even the simplest hairstyles. Here are three simple hairstyles that use braids.
-
The Braided Ponytail - A ponytail isn't just for exercise anymore. A braided ponytail jazzes-up a classic style while still being functional. Use an elastic band that's close to your hair color to start and finish your braid to keep the focus on your hair.
-
The Braided Headband- Take a small portion of hair from right behind your ear and braid it. Then pull it over the top of your head, pinning the end of the braid behind your other ear. It's a beautiful style that is also functional!
-
The Braided Bun- A braided bun is perfect for those days when you want to add extra glamour. Take a braided ponytail and wrap it around the base of the ponytail. As you wrap the braid, carefully pin it to your head. Tuck any loose ends and smooth a shine serum over your finished bun to complete the look.
Braid away and look super stylish!
